A neighbor of ours, Deborah, left a comment on this blog a couple weeks back welcoming us here at Real Raw Live to the neighborhood. I wrote back to her by posting another comment, but wanted to call it out to highlight this real world local community to this, our virtual community.
Hey Deborah,
Thank you for the welcome. It has been incredible to me to see how many people are so into making that change to health - to holistify their lives.
Of course it's easy for me - I live it - but out of the woodwork I see we have this strong community of not only healthy people, but un-healthy people who are now totally committed and show up everyday simply to get a fresh juice (their first step).
Next, I see them go one step further and their fresh juice evolves into an E-3 shot or even an EFA shot.
They are totally getting addicted to health because they feel so much better and the environment here at RRL is so supportive.
We have a women on the block who is a nurse but has also been a smoker for 50 years. She started with a juice and is now on the health train. She is joining our group cleanse starting on October 4th and is going to attempt to quit smoking forever!
That, to me, is the reason we are there, of course. Real people and real solutions delivered one person @ a time is the coolest thing in the world to me.

You. You are your mind and your spirit working with your body.
I want to get in to a series of posts discussing the Four Elements of Fitness and I will start with the first one: Mind and Spirit.
I don’t want to sound too “new agey”, but to be truly fit - really, completely fit - your Mind and Spirit have to be fit.
The first step is to realize that you control your Mind, not the other way around. On this blog, I will discuss my One Body, One Life program and I know it can help you, but mostly it will help you help yourself. The way to achieve your goals is to generate the mental strength to be in control so as to move your body forward towards them.
People call Spirit many things, but to me Spirit is energy. Inside us it is a reservoir of strength. Sometimes it is hard to find – maybe it is under layers of stress, fat, fear, regret, disappointment – but it is actually always full and waiting to be tapped.
Getting a feel for your Spirit and getting to know and control your Mind, which I will help you do, are keys to being able to perform the important mental and spiritual feats that lead to holistic fitness.
