Roll With It

Dice_2 Hey, everyone!  Wow, the cleanse is almost over.
Our 7 day cleansers have been enjoying the finish line for a couple days now.
Our 11 day cleansers can see the light and I am so proud of everyone.
One of the greatest landscape artist in Hollywood,  Steven Vandora joined us this round - he has lost over ten pounds and is still dropping.

Looks like the writer's strike is finally coming to a close, so that makes all of us behind the scenes very  happy.  Not done yet but should be in the next 48 hours!  I think we all knew in our hearts the strike had to wrap up before the Academy Awards.  Striking the awards would have sent waves deep in the industry and would have put off resolution of this strike for several additional months.

Just in TV alone, I lost two TV series of work.  Also, when work resumes I am still out of work because they don't have a budget for physical training any more.  So, for a lot people like me, the strike looks like it will effect my business forever.  Cost controls will be tighter and physical training, which is still considered an actors perk, may never make it back in to budgets.

My philosophy is I've got to roll with it and what will be will be. I think things will loosen up in time, but not over night like the media might make you believe.

Again just got to roll with it .

All the best in Health.

Just Keep Moving!

HlIn exercise and in life,
when you're out, you're out
and
when you're, in you're in

Do you get that?
When you're eating well, training hard, feeling great, life dictates your state and anything is possible.

I have clients that get almost obsessive and if they are not training they are thinking of training. They are connected completely and it's constant state of positivity and optimism.
When life has you against the wall it's this connection to your self that keeps you positive,  strong, and allows you the perspective and clarity to deal with life's lessons.

Lessons: they are why we are here, is it not?
Anyway, we lost an amazing actor, person and father yesterday, January 22, 2008.

Health Ledger.

I am so upset by this I will not go there right now.
The point of this post today is:
when life challenges us, we need to keep moving and never give up, ever!
I have a client right now effected by the current state of our economy in a big way.  Gosh, we all are, at the moment, are we not? It's a tough time right now for everyone.
Anyway, he is against the wall in ways we can't imagine. I have taken him on personally right now and my job is to keep this client moving.

Right. Just Keep Moving !!!

We have mornings where this client will pace and stomp their feet in depression, anxiety, and fear, and  not want to do anything.  They just want these feelings to go away.
So, with love and compassion, I get this client on a recumbent bike and slowly they start pedaling.  After ten minutes of breathing and with the TV turned away from the financial news station to VH1 or better yet just turned off, I see the sweat start to bead and the fear turn into purpose... a bit.  The note pad comes out and some ideas, notes,  and reminders are written down that were not in their mind or were blocked ten minutes ago. Or, even a start is made towards solutions that kept this client awake all night.  Then, we slowly work into stomach and other exercises. When we are done life is manageable for the day.

I am telling you it is intense - the training is literally life saving right now.

We blackberry each other constantly - just checking in - whether on a plane or train.  Just quick texts - checking in.
Why?  So we stay connected!
In time, I will be removed from the situation and the client will text them self (figuratively speaking) and stay self-connected, which will be very positive.

I am not a doctor and that is the point: be aware of how powerful your state of physical health pertains to your emotion health, spirit, and state of well-being.

This client will get through it. In fact, today was a great day and a major corner was turned.  Another wall may be waiting, but that's another day and the fear of the unknown serves no one. We must stay present !!!

So, my One Body, One Life family,  with all your emails about how you can't do this or can't do that -Please, with love from me, I say
"knock it off"
I want you to feel me in your heart and mind and get your body moving.  I don't care what form the movement is just move, OK.
Please make a promise to yourself,

Just move !!!!

Life will work out - I promise - it always does.

Don't give up!!

I miss you, Heath, as some many people do today.

Elf Yourself

Gregelf Greetings everyone.
So, I am at a family dinner and my sister pulls us all into my dad's office and shows me this  "Elf Yourself " sequence she put together.
I almost fell over laughing.
Talk about changing your appearance!
This program is hysterical.
We then spent the next hour and a half putting all our heads on to elves -  even my 7 month old daughter.

Tip : The funnier the photo the better the result. Mouth open photo's are priceless and the program let's you edit really well.

It's very addicting - you have got to try it.

I sent it out as a virtual holiday cheer to everyone and it is just a very cool thing.  I even did a before and after of one of my clients and she could not believe the difference.

We all want a different body or a different image of our (s)elves sometime.
Well, this could be your moment.
Or, better yet, just a little fun to get the holiday spirit in full gear.

All the best in health !

Happy Monday!

Calendar Good Monday, everyone!

We got our Christmas tree last night and will decorate it slowly over this week.  We got a ten foot Nobel and our place smells incredible!  Feels early to me this year, but with kids it’s never too early.  We have a Christmas calendar that gives out a small piece of chocolate everyday from December 1st up to Christmas.  I have been using it as a tool, actually.  My son can't have the candy until he eats all his food and of course has to be a very, very, good boy.  So needless to say he has been an angel, and it's been kind of nice!  Ah, the power of chocolate!

Anyway, we are shooting a show with Perez Hilton @ my shop, Real Raw Live tonight.  He is interviewing women’s pro wrestler, "Chyna", for his new reality show for VH1.  They will be chatting things up while I give them outrageous wellness shots and samples from our menu.  Raw shakes and wrestling- what a combination, don't cha’ think?

So it will be fun and good TV.  I will try to get some footage to show everyone.  I hear this guy is pretty out there!  Never met him, but should be fun.  Also heard he loves the Spice Girls.  They are flying in from Canada today; had their first show of the reunion tour last night.  Maybe I can work in a special guest appearance for Perez. Shock the pants off him, we shall see……….

Malibu Burns Again

Malibu_fire I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and tried to incorporate my tips.  If not, not to worry, today is a new day and we're back to our routine until the holiday parties start rolling in.  I have my first party obligation on Wednesday - seems early to me, but nevertheless, here we go:  the season is in full motion.
Anyway, I had a nice break until Saturday morning around 4am when I was woken up to hundreds of fire sirens and evacuation mode.
Malibu is barbecuing again, here we go.
With two kids, it's so exhausting.
They are excited and scared and totally out of their routine and bodies, emotional, sleepy and... damn! That's all I have to say about that.  Looooong day!
Malibu was on alert already, so there were over a 1000 fire fighters going @ it - just amazing.  You could not believe the amount of resources. It's mind blowing and so humbling.
Thank you! Thank you!!
Our place made it, again. Didn't get as close this time as last, so we are fine, just smoked out, again. We'll need to re-wash the drapes and bedding and basically everything all over again.
No phone, TV, internet.  Still have not seen any images from the media besides the paper.  Of course, we've seen enough first hand.  It's times like this when we need the media the most, of course, but it's par for the course.
I bought an AM radio last fire.  So, with all our the technology we have out there, we're back to basics with a just a good AM radio and you know, it can't be beat.
Just so thankful. Had some dear friends seriously in the thick of it - fully stressed and battling for their home, which was saved with about 20 feet to spare.
It's wild to me that our place was pretty calm: if you looked straight out on our deck, it seemed normal  and sunny. Beautiful day!  But, if you slid open our door, the smoke immediately burned your eyes and lungs. If you looked up, to the right, the sky was red and black and the sun was gone.
We watched all these planes fill up with water from the ocean out front and fly off, one after another. Incredible display to watch.  Then, the DC 10 planes were incredible to see, because they were flying so low and looked huge!
The smoke started coming through our drains and fireplace, so I taped everything shut, tried to jam a towel under our front door, and we were out of there - the winds could shift, you never know, and it's just not worth it.
As most of you know, Malibu lost 49 homes this time and I know what you are thinking - you're right: why don't we move?  We are thinking about it, actually.  Anyway, once again thankful and grateful.  So sorry for everyone who lost their homes.
The radio said all these multi-million dollar homes burned, but the areas are older Malibu and homes in that area are owned by people that have been in them for a long time.  Maybe on paper they are worth a lot, but most of these people owned before the price craze and relocating or insurance issues are going to be tough for them.  I am writing this while in line at the local supermarket and I guess the people in front of me, an older couple, lost every thing - home burned down to ash.  I ease-dropped - sorry I couldn't help it. The couple looked just lost, wasted, in shock really.  I would be.  That's when you need family and friends just to grab you, love you and take care of you. Just handle it for you.
But this couple was buying food, moving forward...so courageous to me.
Man, that has got to be hard to deal with on so many levels. I wanted to reach out to them but felt out of place - actually felt best to show respect and let them be.
Tip of the day everyone: don't take any thing for granted, any thing!
I am talking to myself, of course.

When life gets tough, it's just a reminder to be thankful and re-calibrate in gratitude.

Back to exercise tips tomorrow.

All the best in health.

Coming up for Air!

1355727034_4cdb6ec321_m What a week in Southern Cal!

I want to thank Tarini and Jennifer for totally stepping up and making last night such a huge success despite of all the challenges this week.  Such good information!  I will post the information so we can all absorb it and get our immunities as strong as can be for the world today and holidays ahead.
Thank you, guys, so much!

I will tell you I am beat!  I am typing this while on a recumbent bike trying to get that blood moving.  But the air quality in Malibu is just awful!  I felt like the smoke has been permanently trapped in our bedroom.  We had cleaners going to town yesterday.  Literally mopping the walls and scrubbing the floors.  We have a patio that was thick with soot, ash, even burn marks from floating ambers.

We really are fortunate.  So my patio is toast but will redo it and move forward.  But even after the cleaning, we just can't be in the bedroom five seconds with that smell.  Especially with the baby, no way!  So we camped out in the living room last night, and will do so until things get better.

Not going to push it @ all in the gym today.  Just enough to make me feel a little better; take that micro-moment for myself and then get back to it.

Need to buy an air purifier, I think; to get that stale, trapped, nasty odor out of our place.  But my gut tells me it's just going to take time.

Driving around, just seeing all the burned out hills with these million dollar estates carved out and spared. How do the firemen do it?  It's like they are artists or something. Just remarkable!

Man, I am stressed out!  I need to chill, it’s really shook me up this week!  Then I see San Diego, and I feel almost foolish.  There is no comparison!   Then to top it off, there is a huge accident on PCH in Malibu with a run away gravel truck.  Just horrible!  It's like enough!

Come on, One Body, One Life!  Let's take a breath here and calm down!  The momentum of tragedy is a powerful thing.  Subconsciously people feed it through the media and we need to consciously say time out.  Enough, let's get it together!  Turn off the TV, and just focus your energy into visions of calm and healing.

That's our power this is our world, our ride, and energy controls it.  Together, let's settle please.  Focus on present moment, like your driving.  Focus on looking out for each other; focus on loving everything and everyone you can.  Put on some great relaxing music that makes you feel good, smile, and start creating happy energy.  It will transcend and heal you, I am telling you!!

Make up prayers in your head and send them to the universe, we will get them.  I am not the Pope, but prayer is such a powerful thing because it's aligns us and unites our perspectives.  You have enough hearts pointing in the same direction and the shift happens, and happens profoundly!  We need a heart shift right now.  In this moment, after reading this; just take a moment and wish everyone well.  Visualize the fires out, and green coming up through the soils.  Houses freshly painted, families laughing, sharing a glorious meal together.  Then, send it off through your heart and out.  Let's make the shift!  Thanks!!!!

Ok I am feeling better just typing this, this is the work right here, this is the good stuff.  Together, anything is possible.

News From Home

178638569_fd476414a9_mJust crazy over here in Southern California.
I live on Carbon Beach in Malibu.  Yesterday, we were evacuated and have been in Pasadena; just watching and praying the fire spares us and our neighbors.
Our residence is literally in the middle of the fire; but as of now, it seems it is safe.

My office building also is right up against the hill, across from the beach and it was surrounded by fire yesterday; but I think the building was saved, as well.  It made the news several times and every time it looks OK, just a bit charred.

Feeling very fortunate @ the moment!  All I had time to do was grab a computer, the family, and get out.

It's these winds. So powerful - it's just surreal over here!  We are blocked out and can't get back to the beach.  There are other fires across California which is making Malibu seem calm in comparison, especially now in Lake Arrowhead.

My thoughts out to everybody!!!!!!!!  Will be in touch.

Water Weight

249278984_8b0695ec9c_m_2Reading this post you probably think I am going to talk about the effects of water on the body.
I actually want to quickly talk about water weight on the planet and how we can do three simple things to save literally tens of thousands of gallons of water each year as well as several hundred dollars of hard earned cash as well.

1. Turn off the water while you brush your teeth.  This simple exercise based on brushing your teeth for two minutes can save eight gallons of water every time you brush.  That is literally almost 25,000 gallons a year and savings of almost $300 bucks!

2. Use a water filter instead of water bottles.  Americans drink 56 billion, that's right billion, 16 ounce bottles a year; yet fewer than 15% gets recycled.  Just crazy! Not to mention - you can save over $600 bucks a year by making this simple switch to a filter.
A great filter that I use is Ever Pure. It lasts for ever, it feels good to fill a glass of water actually into a glass, and it help keeps as much plastic out of the house as possible.

3. Shower time.  No, you don't have to have a two minute shower like Jennifer Aniston, but good for her, sincerely!  But here are so simple figures and the rest is up to you.  Just one minute in the shower uses over 7 gallons of water, and that's a conservative estimate.  Just cutting down your shower time by one minute equals over 10,000 gallons a year and over a $100 bucks in your pocket.
I try to just be aware of my shower time.  My son loves to hang out in the shower and, being four year old, he does not understand why he can't stay in forever?  Now, we make a game of awareness out of it, and are saving water big time.

Just think of all this as gathering up major Karma points in life!

Simple solutions for great effect!  It's the only way to go.

I want to thank "The Down to Earth Guide to Global Warming" for these figures.

Again One Body, One Life, One Planet!

All the best in health.

Real Raw Live at the Emmy Awards

I'm at the Emmy Awards with some of my Real Raw Live colleagues.
The Emmys are going green!
There is a lot of interest here in healthy living, organics and great
nutrition.  We are located in an area called the Eco Room celebs and
media people filter through over the course of the day.  They all seem
really into our message and our products.
The organizer is Nicole Landers - she is the woman being interviewed at
the start of the clip.  She and her partner are green lifestyle experts
who try to make planet friendly services / products that are accessible
to all of us.
