Cleanse: Day 2

151075485_15a57a8fc0_m Howdy Cleansers, welcome to day 2!
Thought I would post a personal diary today of what I am doing and going through as a point of reference, then add some other reference points and other info, as well.
I am feeling OK - belly is a bit upset but my spirit is strong.  I can not stress enough that you need to get your body moving.  Sometimes we need events such as the cleanse to create opportunity, or free up time to take that little extra care of ourselves - to make ourselves a priority!  If you can carve out an extra 45 minutes for yourself, take it.  It's only 11 days; then you can go back to serving the rest of us, OK?

So, I took these words and with my wife's support, I actually just got back from a great work out and steam.  I actually trained the lower body with weights and intervals with yoga stretches, free weight squats, and downward dog super sets.  For me, that deep fiber training and sweat really helps push me through these holes I fall into when I cleanse.  Really brings in new energy and optimism for me - but it's tough; trust your intuition, OK?

If you don't regularly exercise, be mindful of doing the correct type of exercise during the cleanse - that is, exercises that help you, not hinders you.  It does not have to be heavy work, even taking walks is so good for you when done in addition to the yoga set during the cleanse.  Just get out and breath.  Again, use this time to do those extra things for yourself.  This cleanse is a time of honoring, and a time of giving back to yourself.  That's why Robert has no prepared food on his list; he wants us to chop those veggies and boil that quinoa.  Now, we all have lives and responsibilities, etc., but try to really go that place of focus on health and renewal to the best of your ability.  A small example: I rode my bike to the bank yesterday. When was the last time I did that?!

Anyway, after I trained today, I was lucky enough to have a steam and do a little Breath of Fire and Kundalini.  Wow, that really helped as well!  That reminds me, try to take baths.  Water is so restorative, and levels you out into chill mode immediately!  Bring a bottle of water with you and really stay hydrated.

Anna Getty has so stepped up! She dropped off a recipe packet to share with us cleansers.  There are about 20 different recipes that will take you through the cleanse.  So, drop by Real Raw Live and pick up a copy!  I will post some up, as well, for us to share, try and discuss.

Also, Anna will be up in Bronson Canyon on Saturday morning at 9:30 leading a 45-60 minute Kundalini Yoga session. Please come and join.  Doing Breath of Fire in nature is incredibly invigorating.  Please park in the lower parking lot.  We will be on the grass just south of the lot.  Anne says "Bring your yoga mat, Master Cleanser and a shawl to cover yourself up when we relax at the end". Thank you, Anna!  That is so great!

Remember, tomorrow is the first day of the liver flush and, as it says in the booklet, the drink is to be taken after yoga.  So if you want, we can all go down to Real Raw Live after yoga and have it there.  It will be ready and waiting.  That said, it is OK to drink it before yoga, as well - it's up to you, we open @ 8 a.m.

Here is a comment from Kristan, she is on day 6!

GREETINGS FROM DAY 6!!  I just finished my last liver flush and am feeling better and better.  The drink isn't so bad and, in fact, is a rather impressive mix of sweet and spicy.
Also, I just wanted to share my experience with acupuncture during this time. I mentioned to Dr. Robert that I wanted to get some extra relief for stress and he highly recommends acupuncture during the cleanse. Robert does acupuncture on his detoxing clients and wished he had mentioned it during the orientation.  I really feel that it has helped release some negative energy and put me in a more positive, relaxed mind set to deal better with all that is going on.
I am so excited for yoga tomorrow. What a beautiful setting and a true blessing to have these teachers with us.

Thanks, Kristan!  Take care, everyone!

All the Best in Health,
Greg
